PhD Student

Entered the Program: Fall 2022

Research Advisor: Michael Kruer

Research Topic: Human genetics, medical and clinical genetics, personalized medicine, bioinformatics

Research Interests:  Understanding the genetic causes of a disease can be a very important step towards improving the quality of life and prognosis of people who struggle with these conditions on a daily basis. I joined the Kruer lab in Fall of 2022, where I have been working on the phenotypic characterization of newly recognized genes that are associated with neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy and movement disorders. I am focusing my research in new gene discovery in a Mexican cohort of patients with cerebral palsy.  I am also interested in bioinformatics and the etiology of childhood congenital diseases.
