Research Topic: Identifying novel regulators of TORC1

Research Interests: I’m interested in determining how cells sense stress and starvation signals, integrate the relevant information and decide (1) how fast to grow and (2) which pathways to activate to support growth and survival. To address these questions, I use high-throughput genetic, genomic, live cell imaging, and biochemical approaches. Key question that I’m currently addressing is how are different stress and starvation signals transmitted to the Target of Rapamycin Kinase Complex I (TORC1)- the master regulator of cell growth and metabolism in eukaryotes, and identifying novel regulators of TORC1.
